So this is Daisy... still dont have her middle name sorted out but she was born on November 17... arrived with a good set of lungs on her and a healthy body weight of 3.740 kg (just over 8 lbs)... birth was, well, not long but dealing with doctors, nurses and nurse midwives who have fear of lawsuits and and little experience with non standard births has been exhausting...
im completely in love with this new love... my friend connie came for the birth from portland and stayed for 2.5 weeks and did everything for me besides shit and pee... i mean she cooked, cleaned, did laundry, shopping, got vitamins, burped and changed baby, took her so i could have naps, ran around doing errands like a plug for the sink and stuff like that.... i have been SOOO taken care of and now, now she has left and we will see how things evolve after two weeks of baby in da house...
family, friends, neighbors have all showed up with endless amounts of cakes, food, creams, baby stuff and advice and im glad to say it has slowed down, these visits. it can be a little daunting dealing with all this and yet its all love and im all for it.
i had a doula and my friend connie with me at the birth... for those interested in the gory details, i will have a birth story soon enough but its not that exciting, not in an israeli hospital.
my mother, father (who visited from overseas), nephews, sister, cousins, aunts, uncles etc. have all come by and passed along hand me downs to my delight (im all about hand me downs altho not sure i was into this as a child myself). i often wonder how my life would be different, or my style, my home if i had a million or two suddenly.
anyway, if you wanna know how im doing, its pretty dependent upon whether or not i have had some sleep that night. and it changes, so breastfeeding is going well and it just depends upon how each day flies... so far, so good.
in recent years, it surprized me to realize that my greatest desire was to have a child, and i feel blessed that this has become a reality.
please forgive me if i do not reply to individual emails, but know that I FEEL THE LOVE!
